We built the first one for ourselves.

Faxter's products are built by a small team running an autonomous development system: AI agents that take a work item, plan it, write the code, review each other's output against our own written constitution and test gates, and open a pull request. It has been producing unattended pull requests since August 2026.

That is not an engineering curiosity, it is the commercial model. Growing operators need per-customer configuration — routes, vehicle classes, rota structures, cost streams — and that configuration work is exactly the labour that turns a product company into a consultancy. The agent fleet is what lets us absorb it without absorbing headcount, and it is why we can serve a segment that would otherwise be uneconomic.

Every product in the suite is governed by a written constitution before a line of it is built: tenant isolation, an immutable audit trail, no hardcoded accounting rules, and a preview of every action before anyone approves it. We publish what we learn — including the parts we got wrong — in the writing.

Faxter is built by Ahmad Sadiq, an embedded-systems engineer who runs Microscale, the Abuja electronics business that became Faxter's first customer. Clerk exists because Microscale needed an accountant it could not justify hiring; every co-worker since has been built the same way — for a real business first, sold only after it worked on one.
